After all of the things that just happened the last thing Dean is doing is worshipping God and religion. And yet the director choose to include a cross in this scene, as if, no matter what God did, how he didn’t help stop the apocalypse and made two brothers sacrifice themselves to do the job instead, everyone in the whole world will still beleive in Him, and continue thanking Him instead of the Winchesters: the ones who saved the whole world and continue to help those in need.
